Achievements
- Wrote the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) for the Intermediate Phase for the Department of Basic Education
- Conceptualised, designed and lectured on accredited university courses which mathematics content and methodology, mathematics in the new curriculum, and mathematics teaching for classroom practice
- Supported foundation phase teachers to present at the AMESA regional conference
- Presented numerous courses at the Western Cape Education Departments Cape Teaching and Leadership Institute (CTLI) on Shape and Space, Life Skills
- Developed and implemented a programme to support new teachers in challenging teaching environments
- Wrote the HeadStart series for Oxford University Press, some of the Patterns series for Cambridge University Press, some of the On Track with Mathematics for Maskew Miller Longman, and numerous others
- Developed I Know my Maths number cards for the Foundation Phase, boxed sets of number card questions that will last be sufficient for a large class of learners for an entire year and be reuseable for the next five years
